Tags: Maloof Money Cup, Washington D.C. Earthquake ?
Let?s get ready to RUMBLE!!!!! No literally.? I really mean it for those of you in the Washington D.C./Virginia area because you have now been exposed to a natural phenomenon not common in that part of the country.? For those of us on the WEST SIDE, we take earthquakes very seriously.? As serious as DAVID HASSELHOFF.? From grade school up on till COLLEGE, we practice drill after drill, which takes away from valuable class time, preparing for what might be the ?Big One?.? I know most of you on in D.C. probably have never felt an earthquake and to your surprise, we feel bigger jolts over here when ICP are in town, but startling nonetheless.
One can never predict when an earthquake will hit, unless you?re MISS CLEO.? But one can always prepare for it.? In preparing for an earthquake, you want to make sure that you are always stocked up on foods.? Make sure they are canned in order to maintain a long shelf life.? You never know how long you will need to depend on that food when the stores are closed down or empty from looting.? And treat yourself.? You don?t want to be on day 45 eating your 45th SPAMWICH.
Duck and cover under the closest table.? In school, we simply duck under our own desk, which in unfortunate if you sit next to ?Farty Marty? and his bum is in your face.? When under your desk, you want to protect your neck and keep your desk from moving at the same time.? So you simply use one hand to cover the back of your neck, and the other holding on to one leg of your desk.? And while under there, go ahead and admire some of the DESK ARTWORK accumulated over the years.
Now if that was not enough rumbling, get ready for some earth shattering skateboarding that you can expect.? The Maloof Money Cup presented by Vans?? today announced the list of pros that will compete in the first-ever Washington, D.C. contest September 3-4 at the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds.??Skaters who finish in the top 16 based on combined scores from New York and D.C., will earn a spot on the Maloof All Pros, which was started by Joe Maloof this year to recognize the top skateboarders in the world, and send them to the Maloof Money Cup World Championships in Kimberley, South Africa Sept. 28-Oct 2.
The Maloof Money Cup is held on custom built, cement street courses designed by the pros and incorporating features that replicate real street skating.??The D.C. skate park was inspired by Freedom Plaza and the architecture up and down Pennsylvania Avenue.??The DC skate park marks the second world-class skate park that the Maloofs have built and left behind for the community.??Once again, the contest will utilize the head-to-head jam format that was first introduced at MMC New York.??Created by skateboarders, the new format is widely praised for encouraging the hardest tricks in a fast-paced, energized environment that is closest to real street skateboarding.
