American College of Physicians tells senators and representatives they must take action now

10. You'll actually be able to find a doctor when you get old!

9. Please show the same support for doctors' offices that you do for other small businesses.

8. Grandma will thank you.

(Washington) The American College of Physicians (ACP) today began revealing the Top Ten reasons why Congress should repeal the SGR (sustainable growth rate) now. The rest of the list will be unveiled over the next week, with the #1 reason to be made known on Wed., Nov. 16.

Like the other reasons on the Top 10 list, the #1 reason is a closely-kept secret that makes it clear why Congress must act now to enact a permanent solution to this fatally-flawed formula that works to hurt patients, physicians and economic growth.

ACP will email the authorizing committees of jurisdiction (chairs, ranking members and rank and file), House and Senate leadership (majority and minority), super committee members, and members of the Doctors Caucus with the reasons why Congress must act now, with new reasons added daily. Then, on November 16, they will receive the full list of Top Ten reasons--including the #1 reason. The list will also be posted each day on ACP's website in the Advocacy Spotlight.
